How is my final score calculated?
The final score is determined by evaluating the driving habits of drivers on your policy for 90 days. That score will create your customized price.
Safe drivers could earn up to a 30% discount. Risky drivers may see a price increase.
Will the score transfer when I add or replace a vehicle on my policy?
Yes. If you change or add new vehicles at any point, we will apply your RightTrack score to those vehicles. Please contact our service team for assistance with changing or adding vehicles.
Will the score be applicable for the life of my policy?
Yes, your final RightTrack score will be applied to your premium for the life of your policy.
Can I opt-out of RightTrack before completing the review period?
Yes. You can opt-out at any time during the 90-day review period by contacting our service team. Your insurance coverage will continue, but your initial discount will be removed from your policy and your premium will be adjusted to reflect this change.
Is a discount guaranteed at the end of the RightTrack review period?
Yes, for customers in most states. However, your final discount may be greater than or less than your initial discount based on driving performance and the number of drivers participating. Non-participating drivers will reduce your savings.
Maximize your savings by encouraging all drivers on your policy to participate and by demonstrating safe driving behaviors. If your final discount is less than your initial discount, you will receive a bill for the difference.
For customers in AL, AR, AZ, CO, DC, DE, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MN, MO, NH, OH, OK, OR, UT, and VA, all drivers must participate to remain in the RightTrack program. Discounts are earned by being a safe driver. Risky drivers may see a price increase.
How will I be notified my final score?
Your final score will be applied to your policy once all participating drivers have completed their review periods, replacing your initial discount. Once this has happened, you will be notified in the app and by email. If your final score is different than your initial discount, you will also receive new policy documents that reflect this change within a few weeks after completing the program.
For customers enrolled in IL and OH after 1/23/23; in IN, KS, MO, NH, and OR after 5/22/23; in AL, AR, CO, ID, OK, and UT after 7/17/23; in AZ, DC, LA, MN after 9/18/23; and DE, IA, and VA after 11/20/23, your final score will appear in the app and you'll keep your initial 10% discount until your policy renews. At renewal, you will receive new policy documents that reflect any changes to your premium for participating in the RightTrack program.
- Can I use RightTrack on any phone?
To participate in RightTrack, you need a smartphone that has the following:
- GPS location capabilities.
- An accelerometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensors. Some Android phones don't have these features. iPads, tablets, and Windows phones are not compatible.
If your phone isn't compatible, you'll see an incompatibility message when you open the app.Why is it important to monitor my trip categorization?
Only trips where you are the driver count toward your score. The app will accurately detect when you are the driver, but it's still a good idea to check the app periodically to make sure all trips are correctly categorized.
What impact does the app have on my phone battery?I am changing my phone. How do I continue to participate in RightTrack?
The amount of battery used depends on the model of your phone. The app uses about the same amount of battery as other driving navigation apps. We recommend charging your phone while driving if you're taking a long trip. Trip recording will automatically stop when your phone's battery life is at 20% and below or when battery save mode is on.
In order to continue with the RightTrack program, simply re-download the app from the App Store or Google Play. Then log back in if you already have an online account.
If you don't have an online account, choose "Enter activation code" in the RightTrack section. On the activation code entry screen, use the "Already activated or need a new code?" link to request a new activation code via email. Once you've successfully activated and your permissions are correctly set, you'll be able to continue using RightTrack.
How much data will the app use?How is my data used?
Data usage varies depending on the amount of engagement with the app. From a strictly trip capture standpoint, the app uploads about 500-600KB of data per hour of driving. If you were to drive 1 hour/day for a month, it would equate to 18MB of data, a small fraction of a typical US data plan. To minimize the amount of data the app uses, go to your RightTrack settings and toggle "Upload my trip data over Wi-Fi" on. This will only restrict data usage for sending your trips to us for processing. Your phone will still use data during trip capture.
A complete list of collected data can be viewed at https://www.libertymutual.com/telematics-data. This list will be updated as the data changes.
We may retain the collected data indefinitely, subject to state requirements. We may use the data in connection with any insurance claim, including for purposes of reporting, investigating and adjusting such claim(s). How can I view my driving performance?
At any time during the 90-day review period, you can review your driving patterns and see your projected driving score by monitoring the RightTrack dashboard in the app.
How do I register in the app?
Once you enroll in RightTrack and download the app, you'll need to register using your Liberty Mutual online account information OR use the activation code from your welcome email. If you are not the primary driver, you will register using your activation code.
Is my data continuously collected?Does every driver on my policy need to download the app?
No, your driving data is only collected when the app detects vehicle movement. Your trip data might be delayed in uploading to the app when there is poor cellular data connection.
No, for customers in most states, but in order to get the most accurate data and driver/passenger distinction, we encourage every driver with a smartphone to download the app and complete the registration process to participate. Your final score is determined by evaluating the driving behavior of all drivers on your policy. Drivers who do not participate contribute to the overall policy savings because their driving behavior is unknown.
For customers in AL, AR, AZ, CO, DC, DE, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MN, MO, NH, OH, OK, OR, UT, and VA, all drivers on your policy need to download the app and register to participate in the RightTrack program in order to qualify. If a driver doesn't download the app and register, the initial 10% discount will be removed from your policy.
