Here's some examples of when condo insurance can help
- In your car: You hid your tablet and camera under the seat but both are stolen.

You may be able to buy a separate policy for some of these damages if needed.
How much condo insurance coverage do I need?
In general, coverage depends on how much stuff you need to protect. To get started, take inventory of your belongings. Include your clothes, electronics, furniture, kitchenware, jewelry, and other items you own. This will help you think about how much protection you need.
While coverage will ultimately depend on how much stuff you need to protect, coverage of $15,000 for personal belongings and up to $100,000 in liability coverage, with the option to add on additional coverages, is often sufficient.
Please note, Liability Coverage comes standard with a Liberty Mutual condo policy. This coverage means you're protected if you, your family member, or your pet injures someone or damages their property.
Another thing to consider adding is No-fault Medical Coverage. This means your insurance company can help pay for someone's medical bills if they're injured in your home.
Liberty Mutual customizes your coverage so you only pay for what you need.

An HO6 policy is just another word for a condo insurance policy. If you're looking for an HO6 policy, no worries, you've found it. This term is generally interchangeable with “condo insurance.”
It depends. Condo insurance normally protects the inside of a unit only. So, it normally doesn't protect the structure of the building, including things that are shared like
- Roofs
- Garages
- Sidewalks, etc.
Many townhomes and condos have a homeowners association with a master policy. These master policies often help protect these shared elements. In these cases, a condo policy would work. You'll just want to verify what/if things are covered by a master policy.
Please note, if you're renting a townhouse, a renters insurance policy is what you'd need.
